The German School Network
Why AvH
AvH is part of a network of 135 German Schools Abroad that are supported by Germany’s Central Agency for Schools Abroad (Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen – ZfA) on behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office.
In 2012 and in 2018, the German government recognized AvH as an Exzellente Deutsche Auslandsschule (German School of Excellence Abroad), the highest accreditation level awarded.
From Kuala Lumpur to Montreal to Tokyo, German Schools Abroad place particular emphasis on individual development, multilingualism and intercultural exchange. With the support of the Federal Republic of Germany and excellent teachers, students of German Schools Abroad receive a first-class education and obtain German as well as local qualifications. It is the German language and culture, education, as well as encounters and exchanges that form the cornerstones of German Schools Abroad.
AvH is proud to collaborate with the six other North American German international schools with whom we meet regularly to exchange ideas and best practices. Additionally, we coordinate with them on the administration of the German International Abitur (Deutsches Internationales Abitur, or DIA) exams.
The German Saturday School which uses the school’s facilities offer German lessons for all ages. For more information on the Saturday program, visit http://ecolesallemandes.org
